I would love to speak with you about creating a work of art customized for your home, office or commercial space. Creating a commissioned piece of fine art is a highly personal and interactive experience between the client (you) and the artist (me). Your vision, and the environment in which your piece of fine art will reside, is very important. You may have specific ideas of subject matter, theme, size, color or even style. I can work from photos, life, or other references. Please take a few minutes to describe what you want in the message field on my Contact Page, so that I can begin to share your vision, even if it’s no more than a basic idea.
Pricing
Two main things determine the price of your custom artwork: Size and Complexity. You can get a basic idea of how much a piece will cost by measuring its total square inches. First, multiply the height x width to get the total square inches, and then multiply that total by the square inch price assigned to that size range. For example: 16” x 20”= 320 square inches, multiplied by $1.75 (the first size range) = $560.
- Size Ranges:
- 320 - 720 sq. in. are $1.75 per sq. in.
- 800 – 1,600 sq. in. are $1.50 per sq. in.
- 1,700 – 3,000 sq. in. are $1.25 per sq. in.
Then, you have Complexity. That means a work that has many details that are complex. For example, an oil painting portrait of a dog will be more complex than an ink drawing of a cartoon. The longer it takes to create, the more expensive it will be. Generally, I estimate how long I think the work would take, and charge about $35 an hour, in addition to the square inches cost.
